Weight Products

Products sold by weight are another common special use case in grocery retail that a Scan & Go application must be able to integrate successfully into its offering.

Once the customer has picked out a weight product, the items are weighed on a scale at the produce section. The scale prints a ticket which contains all the information about the products, handily encoded and ready to scan. Certain scales are also able to print a single ticket containing the information for a large number of purchases, saving both time and resources. A good MSCO solution must also be able to deal with this kind of compound product and recognise the information contained in the barcode generated by the scales.
