Printed receipt

Some countries still require retailers to print a physical copy of their receipt due to fiscalisation regulations.

At first glance, this presents an issue for MSCO solutions since the idea is to liberate customers from the traditional checkout process, which also includes the printing of the physical receipt. However, MSCO solution providers can work with retailers to counteract this by providing a dedicated printer near the exit of the store.

This printer reads a code that has been generated by the Scan & Go application once the purchase has been completed. This code contains all the information about the customer’s basket and allows the printer to create a physical copy of the receipt in order for the retailer to remain fully compliant with regulations. This can be backed up by a digital copy, which the customer may wish to keep for their own purposes.
