Cross-department spillover

This term refers to the interaction between different departments within a store, something that can be facilitated by the communication tools available to a retailer through a Scan & Go application. One example could be a large retailer with an on-site restaurant directing shoppers there in order to prolong their shopping trip and enjoy other services that the retailer offers. This can strengthen the connection between customer and retailer as well as providing a further experiential element to the shopping journey. A Scan & Go application can be effectively used to make customers aware of these offerings and actively direct them towards another department.
